04/11/19 update – 27 pounds, 6 months old – After 6 weeks of caring for a frail, hairless puppy Bama’s foster mom says he’ll be the hardest to let go. He’s turned into a very handsome, confident, southern gentleman of a puppy. Bama went from being smaller than his sister Georgia to now outweighing her. He is sweet with anyone and everyone he meets. He’s curious, smart, and just a joy to be around. He rides well in the car, walks well on leash and has gotten a head start on potty and crate training. If you’re looking for a playmate for your current pup or just a super cool puppy to take with you everywhere, Bama may be your man!
Meet Bama! He’s had a few speed bumps in his short life, but we’re making sure it’s only smooth sailing from here on out. He’s suffering from Demodex mange, a non contagious mite that destroys the hair follicle which causes loss of fur and skin irritation. Luckily, it’s totally treatable and he’s almost completely healed. We’ll be updating pictures as he grows into the furry little puppy we know he’ll be. It’s like the rescue dog version of The Voice…we’re watching this little personality come to life without knowing what he’ll grow up to look like.
We’re working closely with our vet as well as our friends at Earth Pets Natural Market to make sure Bama gets everything he needs to heal as quickly as possible.
