Robin Egg
We make a promise to our Swampies that once they are with us they will always be safe and loved. But sometimes, no matter how hard we try to prevent it, a promise gets broken. Three whole years of Robin being in her “forever” home and now she is back in our rescue yet again.
We are heartbroken for Robin, who is confused and stressed in boarding - the only option we had with 30 minutes to make a plan for Robin’s future. Truthfully, Robin was not an easy dog for us the first time we had her. She was always sweet but she had no interest in humans other than to use them as a springboard and she had lots of, “little kid at a birthday party who had too much cake and missed nap time” type of energy. Robin could have ended up a million other places, many of which we believe would have led to her being pent up, overlooked, and declining in a shelter system she couldn’t get out of. We believe Robin found us for a reason. We worked to help her excited anxiety, we treated her for heart worms, and even sent her off to a training program which did wonders for her. And still we had Robin for a year before she got adopted.
Now, three years later it’s obvious how good home life has been for Robin. She is more settled. She wants affection and sits with her butt right next to you and leans in for pets. She is a different Robin we are getting to know again, but still Rob. She still has her very own unique, happy zest for life, and she still has the cutest stinkin’ happy face. Robin is cat friendly, older kid friendly, no dogs but is not reactive and is dog safe, and she is nondestructive in a home. She also has free life time refresher courses with her trainer. Robin is looking for someone who loves her for her quirks, not despite them. Please help us share Rob. She needs a foster or adopter ASAP. We are very worried she will regress from how far she has come if we cannot get her out of boarding. She is confused and struggling to understand where her family went and we swore to her we would do everything to not let it take another year this time to find her people.
Once a Swampie always a Swampie, and this time forever WILL mean forever.
