Calvin
Some adoption journey’s are longer than others for reasons we cannot explain. Calvin was found as a stray and made his way to a teeny tiny outdoor shelter where he remained for months, even though he was a happy go lucky puppy. As the shelter continued to reach capacity time and time again, we’d see plea after plea to save his life. A puppy’s life We finally had space and thanks to our transport angel Bridget Greene, Calvin was safe at last!
Despite being dog friendly, Calvin spent way too much of his young life in boarding while he waited for an adopter. And even then, his months spent in a cage at the shelter and his room in boarding translated in separation anxiety that had him returned from a potential home more than once. Much like Goldilocks, no home was “just right” for our boy until a friend and former foster offered to help him work through his separation anxiety and what do you know, Cal finally found the perfect fit.
Calvin, and his alter ego affectionately known as Carl, seemed to be the piece that his family didn’t even know they were missing. He and his siblings are quite literally inseparable and where one is, the other two aren’t far behind. You might even recognize those siblings, Rocco (formerly known as Kronk) and Bambi started off as Swampie foster dogs too before they decided to stay put forever! With the reassuring presence of his forever besties and the time and energy his parents put into a consistent routine, Cal no longer struggles with separation anxiety and we couldn’t be more proud!
We are beyond thrilled for this trio, and we are so excited that we get constant updates of their hilarious antics and adorable cuddles Happy forever, Calvin. You certainly earned it, bud!
