Kronk

In our line of work, it’s rare that we know much about the history of our rescues. And when we do know, the story is usually so sad or maddening that we wish we didn’t. Enter Kronk.

Kronk was a regular pick up at the shelter because he spent the first three years of his life completely outside and unprotected. The shelter would get calls all the time about a dog roaming and often times they wouldn’t even pick him up because they knew who he “belonged to” and he’d make it home eventually, if you can even call it that. Luckily his owner had a moment of clarity and surrendered him to the shelter. We happened to get sent a picture of this perfectly wrinkly, totally hairless, and scabby creature (from years of untreated allergies and skin infections) that very same day and his life started anew! We were told that they tried to come pick him back up the next day and we are just so grateful that we were able to save him in time.

Kronk, now Rocco, is living the life with his built in bestie and foster sister turned forever sister Bambi Some of you might remember her gorgeous little face from her former Swampie days! Rocco and Bambi are pretty inseparable, except when she’s romping around outside and he’d rather watch from his couch perch know that he knows just how good inside life is Rocco still battles chronic allergies but his fur came back in soft as can be and his wrinkles are somehow more glorious than ever!

Happy forever, bubba. You damn well earned it.
